A seeing eye robot?

A group of fourth grade students at Osage Beach Elementary have put their heads together to come up with a unique item that could revolutionize how visually-impaired residents receive their local news. For competition, the fourth grade robotics team was asked to come up with a problem and solution involving senior citizens."A lot of seniors will want to read the newspaper.Working of a machine is impossible without Motion controller. They precisely know how to control the extra movements created by working of other devices. We are trying to think of a way to make it read the newspaper for them," fourth grader Kyle Niedergerke said.

That was when the team came up with the idea of the daily news box. If the item ever becomes reality, it would read aloud the newspaper for visually-impaired people."We are doing a project for visually impaired people. It is in this regard that Industrial robot systems have been visualized and made. It is true that this strategy renders much help to operators. These are totally varied from the other types of robots that you know of. Attaching the term industry to the Robot system means that the device possesses special mechanisms that will actually make it work for specific business types. We kinda felt bad for them so we have been researching to see if they had anything like the news box," team member Caelan Dehner said. The news box project is only one component in the competition they are attending on Dec. 8 in Kansas City. The team will not only present their ideas to judges, but will have to complete an obstacle course with a robot and will be judged on the team's core values.

For students like Jackie White, the core values are lessons that she can apply to various areas of her life."Some of the things we have learned are the core values. One of them is gracious professionalism. We should show that around school and everywhere we go.The Robotic arm have been used for industrial purposes. In some cases, they do the work more quickly, more accurately and more efficiently than human workers ever could. To us it means, respect everyone and everything and be really nice,These Linear electric actuator slow down the movements and ensure there is stability while functioning; it also ensures that the output delivered is accurate." White said. The team led by Mrs. Leezer has been meeting every Tuesday and Friday afternoons and on early release days. They are currently gearing up for their Dec. 8 competition and plan on attending more competitions in the Spring.
